Do we stand, or do we flee?
In the far corners of the earth, the Lost Ones shamble. In tattered garb they wonder further. They know not where to go, for they are Lost and can never come home.
They leave traces of their passing. The cold darkness and empty feeling is felt in the hearts of those who survive them. For the Lost are wondering among us.
Us — the common layman — cannot see the Lost for what they are. Their true stature is hidden from us, or that we hide our own eyes from the truth. It pains us too much.
New wanderers join them every day. Fresh, ashen faces to fill the void with their pain and sorrow. Each new body slowly filling the endless halls of the Lost, until the world is conquered by these silent enemy soldiers. We — those who are at war — see it all.
We — soldiers of light — cannot stand idly by and watch our lives crumble into this mist.
We — kings of the battle — will not allow the Lost to swallow all that we hold dear.
We — seekers and defenders of Truth — shall stand shoulder to shoulder against the rising flow and with every fiber of our mortal souls, say to the face of Death “You may take no one else.”
Though we may surely fall, we fall with purpose and with honor. Our souls will not be counted among the Lost. For we rise with the power of glorious hope and truth in the face of cold despair and terror. It is these days that define us; these very moments that eternally shape WHO WE ARE. So you tell me…
Do we stand, or do we flee?
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
