Ok, time for some truth: I hate failing. I loathe the idea of a plan falling through or time wasted down a dead end. It’s even worse when someone else is relying on me. That pressure of trying to keep things from going “wrong” is one of the worst feelings.
But here’s the sneakier fact: learning never happens when things go perfectly “right”. Real, iterative progress occurs when everything is busted, you’ve made a choice without knowing all the facts, and you are forced to deliver an educated best guess.
And maybe, just maybe, that best guess is an absolute banger. You won’t know until you do some hard things and make some choices.
I think that’s why I’m so immersed in creative projects lately: they give me a safe sandbox to fail fast. Plus I don’t lose too much, just some time and maybe a bad idea or two. All things I have in great abundance right now. I appreciate your patience.
Also, I’m finally getting a more consistent posting schedule figured out (about time, right?) Watch that big, bouncy countdown on the front page to stay up to date. It’s really there for me, but you feel free enjoy it too.
